Overwhelmed

I'm feeling really overwhelmed today. Its the end of the semester and exams are only three weeks away. I feel like I need to catch up in ALL of my classes. Plus, I didn't do so hot last semester so I really need to do better this semester, but I'm SOOOO burnt out on school and am lacking all motivation. I mean, I've been in school since 1990 - I'm tired!

I need to figure out what classes to take next semester and this summer. I also need to find a summer job, a paying job! I will be interning for a local family law attorney part time this summer but its unpaid and I need to make some money! And in case any of you are unaware, we are in a recession and jobs are few and far between. I'd love to find a babysitting job but don't really know where to find one! STRESS....

Anywho...I got the Lilly dress in the mail yesterday and I lOVE it! Its so colorful and it fits well. Other than that - not a lot of exciting things going on today. Have a good evening ya'll!

  1. Just breathe. Take a deep breath, hold it, and let it out. Then, make a list of what you need to do, and break that list down into smaller bits. It will help you see that even what looks like the biggest, most impossible task, is really just a bunch of little tiny easy ones that you can cross off quickly.

Sorry you're feeling stressed today! :(

  4. So sorry you are feeling overwhelmed! But just remember that it's easier to take it one thing at a time..you can get everything done! Making a list always helps me feel more on top of things! Have a wonderful evening and get a special treat for yourself! New lipgloss always does wonders for me!

  5. I'm so sorry you're having a down day. I remember how stressful school was and that memory has made me second guess my desire to go back and get my masters! Just take some time and try to enjoy the simple things in each and every day. Also, look to your family, friends, and boyfriend for support - that's what they are there for! I'm sending positive thoughts your way!

  6. I'm a day late on this, but I figured I'd leave a note anyway.

I don't have much encouragement other than don't worry... you are NOT alone!
What about taking a summer school class?
I am actually studying abroad for a month this summer... I get to see Europe and get 6 hours of credit! Whoohooo!

But seriously, any hours you can get out of the way mean you'll have an easier time during the school year next year. And I'm trying to look at it this way:
Less classes in the fall mean more time for a job (paid or unpaid) and there will be way less competition for clerkships and internships in the fall because not as many people work during school!

Pretty much none of my friends have jobs for this summer, other than people who have jobs during the school year and worked there last summer too. OR they're doing the unpaid thing. It sucks, but great on the resume, right?

Have you tried posting an ad on Craigslist for babysitting? I have a couple friends that found good nannying gigs that way... it can't hurt!

  7. Haha yeha Craigslist can be kind of scary, but you can weed people out pretty easily via e-mail without even having to meet them, which makes it nice.
And the prostitution is all in it's own little section, so you don't have to worry about that when looking for childcare gigs. :)
