my bff and her future hubby just bought a house and close on it the end of next week. i'm trying to decide what to get them for a house warming gift. the thing is that she isn't moving in until after the wedding this fall, he will live there alone until then {rather old fashioned i think, but whatever}. i was going to get them monogramed wine glasses but we are having a stock the bar shower sometime this summer and i want to get those for them then. is it ok to get them something with their married monogram on it now? is that like bad luck or something? here are a couple of ideas. do you all have any suggestions?
framed monogram from here
"new home" wine glasses that can be customized with date or address or whatever from here
Yeah...save the glasses for the stock the bar shower. My favorite gift is a Barefoot Dreams blanket...I haven't met a person who didn't like them but you could pick any nice blanket (since the BFD blanket is kind of expensive) and have it monogrammed with their new monogram. It's something for the home and they could both use it!
ReplyDeleteI like the frame or the blanket idea from Grits. What a sweet friend you are!
ReplyDeletelove the custom glasses!
ReplyDeleteI love that monogram frame... too cute. Grits is totally right about the barefoot dreams blanket... I am curled up on the couch with mine right now!
ReplyDeleteI love that monogram. I just looked it up on etsy, because it would look fab in my foyer!
ReplyDeleteI got a monogrammed door mat at Bed Bath and Beyond for a house warming present for a friend and I think it was a good gift!
I think it's totally acceptable to get them something with their new initials now. I've gotten several gifts from our friends with our new initials and we're not married yet. It's fine. I lovvvveee that framed monogram. SO cute!
ReplyDeleteummm k, i'm getting married in August. putting a link to ths post on my blog because i'm in LOOOOOVe with the monogrammed frame. is it rude to tell everyone how much i LOVE it and NEED it for the new house?! heehee!!
