I've been looking for a coffee table for our living room and found a few contenders. But after talking to Ben, I have decided that an ottoman that can serve double duty as a coffee table and as extra seating would be the best choice. I definitely didn't want any of those fake leather storage ottomans and the upholstered ottomans I found that I like were rather expensive. Then, I found this cute, bright ottoman at Target.com and thought it would be perfect. But, it was still $300 and I know I can make it myself for way less. So, I'm off to the fabric story to search for a heavy weight decor fabric to use.
I'm thinking that if I don't find anything I like I may order one of these~

We have a big square ottoman that doubles as a coffee table and love it. Good luck in your fabric search! XOXO
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of using an ottoman as a coffee table/extra seating. The fabrics you've chosen look great, too!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see a finished product...you're right, you can certainly make one for less than the one you found at Target.
We have an ottoman as a coffee table and love it. I have a tray on it with stacks of magazines, and then if you need to put a drink down you can use the tray - and plus extra seating when you have people over! I'm loving the second and third swatch - thank-you amy butler for making fabulous fabulous fabrics!
