i LOVE knoxville. i have a few friends that live there and i've visited them about 5 times in the past 7 months or so.
you must venture to Market Square which is downtown. they have awesome restaurants and cutesy little shops. i HIGHLY recommend Cafe 4 or Oodles which are at Market Square. Latitude has really good food and a great bar scene.
Also, a really good restaurant on the river to check out is Calhoun's (On The River).
I went to UT so Knoxville is special to me! :) Some great places to go for drinks: Downtown Grill & Brewery, Sapphire's, Crown & Goose and Preservation Pub. The best places to eat are in Market Square downtown, too. Tomato Head, Aubrey's (out of Papermill exit), etc.
Go VOLS!!! I went to school at UT so of course Knoxville is my other home... Jocelyn made great recs and some others at Savelli's (tiny italian restaurant--BYOW), Dead End BBQ, Soccer Taco (cheap and amazing mexican), and cafe four (market square)... have fun!
I miss living in Knoxville so much! DEFINITELY head over to Tomato Head in Market Square. It is the best restaurant ever. But then again my brother's friends own it so I might be biased!
I must say that as a KY girl, I hate the ugly orange (Tennessee Vols). Sooo, if you find yourself with nothing to do, you could do a little graffiti on them. :)
I had a great time at Market Square one year for St. Patrick's Day. Hopefully you packed some UK paraphernalia to wear for Thursday just to be obnoxious!
I was looking for diy headboard ideas and stumbled on your blog! How crazy too because I'm in Lexington too! You headboard looks great - glad to find your blog!
