Gracious, it's easier said than done. I don't know if I do it as often or well as I need to. Ian and I always end the day by asking eachother what the best part of his/her day was, right before we go to sleep. I think that's a really fun way of being grateful for the small things!
this really helped me today! i don't think i'll ever get to a place where i lose sight of my ambitions..i just certainly need to work hard on remembering the blessings!
I love both of these. I have a gratitude journal I write in and it helps me remember how thankful I am for the blessings in my life. I feel like the internet makes it so much harder to be thankful for what you have due to instant gratification and online shopping...and facebook....comparing people. It's tough to stay grounded, so I try to limit my time on those things as well.
Thanks so much for this post! It was a great reminder for me today!
My friends and I talk about this allllllll the time. It's such a difficult balance, especially in such a materialistic world. Wonderful quotes. One thing my mom also always tells me is to appreciate what you have or there's not a lot to look forward to one day. (Ie: if you buy tons of expensive stuff when you're young, it won't be as exciting as you're working your way up the ladder.) :)
