What do you all think of monogrammed veils? Is it something that I might look back on and wish I hadn't done? Is it too much with a veil that already has a lace trim? I can't decide if it's a good idea or not. And what monogram would I get? My maiden, ours together, my new name? Thoughts?!

I've never heard of monogramming veils, but it looks neat to do. I know my friend had her sash monogrammed with her new name.

TOTALLY my opinion here, but if I were you, I'd go classic and have your monogram sewn into your dress on a piece of cloth--I did that for my best friend and she loved it. That way, you can always pass your veil on to future ladies in the family and such???

I think it's a neat idea! But, I didn't use our monogram very much in our wedding decor so this seems very unique.

I love the idea of it. I almost did it, but I didn't think it went well with my dress. If I were going to do it, it would be at the end of the chapel/cathedral length veil, so the monogram is behind you on the floor. I think you can see it better that way, and I think the second picture you posted looks like her butt is monogrammed. :)

Our last name is Smith, so I was going to do just a very nice "S." In my opinion, you and your husband are becoming one - and I think it is appropriate to have your new last initial on your wedding attire because on that day your name changes.

One other thing to consider is the pass-down-ability. Will our daughters want to wear our dresses and veils? Chances are no, but you never know. That's part of the reason I went so plain and simple with my veil. Easy to pass down and embellish. However - it is YOUR veil first and foremost, do want you want and what looks right with your dress.

Also - we got married in Charleston in April 2011. Check out some of my posts for a little inspiration (I know there is so much out there already). And if you need any recommendations, I am happy to email with you! Good luck and have fun!

Best wishes!

I don't hate the idea. But the only way I could see it being cute, is if it were really small at the bottom, and hardly noticeable. Just my opinion. I kept my veil pretty traditional.

I think it could be totally classy and cute. I could not use our monogram on anything because it is well...let's just say I'm Abby he is Stuart and our last name starts iwth S. (figure it out?) Yep, that is right. Another name for your behind! :) So anything we monogram just has the S.

Cute! Only thought is this - down the road, when you have a daughter, what if she wants to wear your veil as her "something old"? Will you wish you hadnt done the monogram?

I have never heard of monogramming veils but I think it is whatever you want. I personally wouldn't but everyone is different. I would think it is neat and cute on someone else.

have you set a date yet?

If you dig it, I say go for it. And if you go for it, you definitely use your married monogram.

I thought it sounded like a cute idea, until I saw the monogram on her butt! I don't want people staring at my butt as I walk down the aisle! haha Maybe at a different location it would be OK.

I'd say the married monogram, but then I had the brief thought that I would be paranoid of jinxing it. haha

I agree with one of the other comments that recommended going with having your monogram sewn into your dress. I had my maiden monogram sewn into my dress in blue and I thought it made for a great picture while I was getting ready.

I have never heard of monogramming your veil!! And I love everything monogrammed! If you didn't want to monogram it for the wedding, could always monogram it after the wedding with the wedding date or something to make it more of a keepsake. I might actually do that with my veil! Good luck!

I love monogramming! But I think that a veil would be something you could want to pass on and would regret not being able too.

I love the monogram in the veil so so much! I incorporated monograms into just about every single aspect of my life, but I didn't even think about putting it in my veil! I think this is a wonderful, wonderful idea! :)

I'm not a fan, in my own opinion. One reason for this would be that it's awkward for someone to use your veil as something "borrowed" if your initials are on it. I agree with Natasha about having a swatch monogrammed inside your dress or around your bouquet.
