My Christmas Cards from Minted!

Well, tomorrow it will be officially December!  The holiday season is in full swing!

I wanted to share with you all our 2011 Christmas cards I ordered from Minted!  Aren't they lovely?! This was my first time ordering from Minted and I was pleased!   My first proof came back incorrect, but they made the changes quickly and I wasn't charged $25 for an additional proof since the mistake was theirs.  The quality of the cards really is wonderful!

Have you all sent out your Christmas cards yet?! Minted is still offering $25 off your first purchase when you use THIS link! Go check out all their custom holiday cards!

Christmas Card Display DIY

I needed something to do with all the Christmas cards that will be arriving in the mail this holiday season, so when I saw this picture on Pinterest, I thought I'd whip one up!

Super simple, just buy a 12-14" embroidery hoop ($1.50), mini clothes pins (99¢), and ribbon(I already had). Hot glue the pins to the hoop and add a bow for hanging...

And there you have it...ready to be filled up with new Christmas cards from friends and family!

(what's with Martha's friends sending teeny tiny cards?)

i bought it bc it was on sale

Ya'll, I'm SO bad about buying things just because they are one sale! If I have a discount code, I feel like I just have to use it.  But, there were a few things I've had my eye on lately that I held off on a my patients paid off because I got them at a great discount! I have a Banana card, so I guess maybe that is why I get so many sale offers? Look at my scores...

Got this lovely gray coat from Banana for 50% off today!

This snow leopard dress from Piperlime for 20% off. They rarely have sales, so I was excited bc I was going to order this dress anyways!

I almost purchased some more expensive Ivanka Trump nude heels, but after reading the reviews for both those and these, I went with these. And hello! They were just $69, can't beat that! These were on backorder, so I hope they are as great as all the reviews said when they arrive.

I used $25 of Piperlime Perks to get the heels and these earrings

I also ordered this tweed jacket that was already on sale for $40, but I got an extra 25% off today!

Do you all feel like you must use a discount when you have it too?! I'm glad I waited on the coat! You can always count on Gap brands to have good sales. Plus, with the holidays coming up, everyone is having sales! Score!

Christmas Gift Ideas #1

Today I'm going to start a series of Christmas gift ideas.  Today's idea is for #kids:

Fill glass jars (recycle old jars from the kitchen. soak in warm soapy water to remove labels) with crayons, small toys, craft supplies, candies, etc. Glue a plastic animal (can be found at Michaels or Hobby Lobby) to the lids and paint with a fun colored spray paint.

I think a set of these would be much a appreciated & also look adorable in a kid's room!

book review: The Night Circus

Our book club read this for our November book and I'm so pleased that Lauren chose it!  At first I was a bit apprehensive, I mean we already read a book set at the circus early this year (Water for Elephants)...but I was in for a real treat! This book is magical! Haha, well it is about magic! I highly recommend this book!

Here is what Amazon had to say:

"The circus arrives without warning. No announcements precede it. It is simply there, when yesterday it was not. Within the black-and-white striped canvas tents is an utterly unique experience full of breathtaking amazements. It is called Le Cirque des Rêves, and it is only open at night.

But behind the scenes, a fierce competition is underway—a duel between two young magicians, Celia and Marco, who have been trained since childhood expressly for this purpose by their mercurial instructors. Unbeknownst to them, this is a game in which only one can be left standing, and the circus is but the stage for a remarkable battle of imagination and will. Despite themselves, however, Celia and Marco tumble headfirst into love—a deep, magical love that makes the lights flicker and the room grow warm whenever they so much as brush hands.

True love or not, the game must play out, and the fates of everyone involved, from the cast of extraordinary circus performers to the patrons, hang in the balance, suspended as precariously as the daring acrobats overhead.

Written in rich, seductive prose, this spell-casting novel is a feast for the senses and the heart."

Support our Troops this Veterans Day!

Today's Living Social deal is a $15 Care Package for US Troops! I think this is a spectacular opportunity to show your support on this Veterans Day.  My grandfather (who served in the Korean War), father, uncle, brother, cousin (any many more past generations of men in my family) have all served in the military.  I'm thankful for them and for all  of the men & women who sacrifice so much for all of us.

Holly Day Market

Ladies! To those of you in the Lexington area, be sure to stop by the Junior League of Lexington's Holly Day Market this weekend! I went last night and there are tons and tons of wonderful vendors. A great opportunity to get some of your holiday shopping finished!

Have a lovely weekend!

Hope ya'll have great weekends too! I can't believe it is already the second week of November...will be Thanksgiving before we know it! Shew!
