Pinterest recipe success

Chicken Tortilla Bake - this was tasty, a bit spicy, and super duper easy! Would be good with some added veggies too, maybe peppers, and some sour cream on top!

WWW - Things I will be DIY'ing

We're not going for a DIY wedding look, so I won't be doing much crafting per say for the wedding (the rehearsal dinner will be a different story!) but there are some projects for the wedding I plan to tackle on my own. If I would have the time, I'd do the flowers myself, but I assume I will be crazy busy...best to leave that to some professionals.

Here are some of the things I'm going to take a stab at doing myself -

Little tags for the send-off sparklers...these will be for after the reception.

Maybe a version of these cute little envelopes filled with confetti attached to the programs?! I love photos of the bride and groom being showered after the ceremony! I'd like my programs to look more like the ones below though...I'll likely make them myself as well.

Or:

I'd like to make some signs for our signature drink and the bourbon bar. I will probably buy this calligraphy font for most of the paper products I'm going to make.

I don't know yet where the bars will be set up...but I'm loving the monogram made out of greenery above this bar. Maybe out of boxwood?

I will definitely be making some welcome goodie bags for our out of town guests. Likely to include: bottled water, snacks, tylenol, maybe a local treat or two and a cute map of Lexington.

These cute thank you cards for our guests are on my list as well. I don't know that I will do one at each seat (may do napkins in a bow on the plates), but perhaps in a gold frame on the tables.

Did you DIY things for your wedding? What did you do?!

Finally Friday!

Who's happy it's Friday?! Friday of a 3-day weekend nonetheless!! WooHoo!! I'll be spending my weekend by the pool, slathered in sunscreen, attempting to get some color. I hope ya'll have safe and fun Memorial Day weekends! Here are some Friday randoms...

I recently purchased this inexpensive bikini from Target...really cute fit! I will say however, that I usually wear a 4/6 and I had to purchase a small in the top and a large in the bottoms (junk in ma trunk?! haha!) So if you have a booty, you may want to size up as well - maybe bc the bottoms are juniors?!

Top & Bottom

I recently won Seersuckers + Saddles blog giveaway! How cute is my new little Marc by Marc Jacobs bangle!? I know I'll be wearing it a lot this summer! You can get one here, if you are so inclined. Be sure to check out Beth's blog...she is another Lexington gal!

Lastly, PIMP errrr....PIPM wrote about Viggle today on her blog and I went over and signed up too! You just check in to TV shows (the app actually LISTENS to your TV) and you get points that can be accumulated and redeemed for gift cards. Its like getting free stuff for doing basically nothing. I wish this app came out last winter, I don't watch much TV in the summer... Sign up HERE

WWW - Vintage topper

I'm on the hunt for the perfect vintage cake topper. Obviously, both bride & groom must be brunette. I also want something that has some sort of arch. Any ideas of where to looks besides etsy and ebay?!

This one is ok...not sold on the silver touches though.

The arches on this one are super cute!

and this one would be perfect if the bride were brunette...

Any ideas?!

Our Engagement Pictures!!!

So excited to share our engagement pictures with ya'll!! We LOVED working with Charlotte, she was a doll and so talented! We were so very pleased with how the photos turned out! She sent me almost 150 so it was kind of difficult to narrow them down (apparently she had trouble too!)... here are some of my favorites. We also took a series of door photos but I'm saving those and my most favorite for the save-the-date cards, so you will have to wait to see those!

Let's start with one that I really love:

And this one was in front of our old house on South Battery:

So pensive :) Dorks!

So me...picture with random pup!

The green earrings were from Von Eshna, the engraved Mr. & Mrs. glasses were from GlassGirlJen, the green top was Elizabeth McKay, and I rented the white Milly and black Shoshanna dresses from Rent The Runway! (use that link for $20 off your first rental. I highly recommend RTR!!) Ben's green pants are Vineyard Vines. Oh, and I made the little cupcake toppers and the numbers for the date!

What do you think?!

it really works!

I finally received my first Ebates check in the mail...I was getting skeptical about it actually working when I kept getting emails telling me I had money waiting but never actually seeing it. Anyways, I'm a total convert now, you should definitely sign up. It's like free money (kinda)!

Sign up today! Its easy to use...just go to the Ebates website before you make any online purchases, then go from their site to the website you are buying from. Ebates tracks what you spent and what percentage you get back and then you get a check in the mail! Nice!

And, I still don't understand how they  make money....

Girl on a Budget

I love the "Girl on a Budget" category/shop at Piperlime. With school loans, a wedding to save for, and a job that isn't the highest paying, I'm certainly on a budget. They always have super cute and affordable things to work into your wardrobe. I love stylish, yet inexpensive, easy-to-throw-on dresses for summer! Here are a few things in my shopping cart currently:
