Our Engagement Pictures!!!

So excited to share our engagement pictures with ya'll!! We LOVED working with Charlotte, she was a doll and so talented! We were so very pleased with how the photos turned out! She sent me almost 150 so it was kind of difficult to narrow them down (apparently she had trouble too!)... here are some of my favorites. We also took a series of door photos but I'm saving those and my most favorite for the save-the-date cards, so you will have to wait to see those!

Let's start with one that I really love:

And this one was in front of our old house on South Battery:

So pensive :) Dorks!

So me...picture with random pup!

The green earrings were from Von Eshna, the engraved Mr. & Mrs. glasses were from GlassGirlJen, the green top was Elizabeth McKay, and I rented the white Milly and black Shoshanna dresses from Rent The Runway! (use that link for $20 off your first rental. I highly recommend RTR!!) Ben's green pants are Vineyard Vines. Oh, and I made the little cupcake toppers and the numbers for the date!

What do you think?!

WWW - Engagement pics teaser

We had a wonderful trip to Charleston this past weekend! The weather was amazing and the photographs went really well. We loved our photographer, Charlotte Elizabeth. I highly recommend her!! She was sweet, talented and made us feel super comfortable in front of her camera. Can't wait to see the rest of the images she captured and share them with you all!

Oh, and btw....I found my DREAM gown while I was there this weekend :) I didn't really find it, I'm having something custom made! I'm in LOVE!! So mark that one off the to-do list!

WWW - Engagement Props 2

We leave tomorrow for Charleston and I could not be more excited!! I love that city so much! Engagement pictures are Friday evening, and the weather is supposed to be gorgeous! Ben's parents are meeting us down there and his mom and I (and one of my best friends, Alissa) are going wedding dress shopping Saturday. Ahhh can't wait to be there!!

For now, wanted to share one more of the "props" we are using for the photos...they involve a delectable cupcake!

I made the little flags in photoshop and just printed them on card stock. You can download free calligraphy fonts from Fonts Space.

Will share the end product in short time :)

WWW - Engagement photo props from GlassGirlJen

I wanted to share with ya'll a couple of the props I'm planning on using in our upcoming engagement photos! Being from Kentucky, Ben is naturally a big bourbon fan. I found this Etsy shop, Glass Girl Jen, who had nice "Mr" and "Mrs" etched glasses. I don't drink bourbon, so I ordered a stemless wine glass with "Mrs" for myself and the "Mr" rocks glass for Ben. I think these will be really cute in some pics at our favorite bar in downtown Chuck!

(some more clear photos from her shop)

Her prices are great and any of her glass items would make wonderful custom shower or wedding gifts! I also love the etched birthday martini glass, a great personalized bday gift at just $16! You could also order this for a bride-to-be for her bachelorette party and some monogrammed stemless wineglass for your bridesmaids!

So many options! Be sure to check out Glass Girl Jen!

Did you use any "props" for your engagement pictures?!

Booked! (& GO CATS!)

So excited! I finally pulled the trigger and chose a photographer for our engagement pictures in Charleston. Charlotte Elizabeth! Can't wait! We are going down the last weekend of April. It's been far too long since I've visited my favorite (US) city...can not wait to be emerged in the beauty that is everywhere in Charleston. Also so looking forward to seeing one of my best friends, Alissa... Haven't seen her in forever!!!

All photos borrowed from Charlotte's BLOG. Isn't she wonderful!?

Have a great weekend, ya'll! and...GO CATS!!!!!!!

engagement pics outfits

What do you all think of this Yoana Baraschi dress for our engagement pictures? I'm thinking I'll do one dress and also a cute top with jeans. Is the dress classic enough? Or will I look back and think "why on earth did I wear that?!"

I do love the look of brunettes in black for engagement pics, see below.

(totally love this chick's hair too!)

Still on the look out. Any suggestions?! Ideas?! We are getting them taken in May in Charleston, SC. So it will likely be kinda warm. We will be downtown among the historic homes and buildings as well as on the water and probably find some live oaks to take some shots by too.

Charleston Photographer??

Hello lovelies! I have a question for ya...does anyone know of any great photographers in the Charleston, SC area? We have decide to have the wedding at home, here in Lexington. Thus, we want to incorporate our favorite city by having our engagement pictures taken in the Lowcountry! Have you all used anyone you would recommend?

love, love, love this set in the doorways!

Big News!!

Saturday for New Years Eve we went to our friends Nancy & Mike's wedding.  She was gorgeous and the wedding was super fun! The band was amazing and they even had the popular late night pizza spot deliver pizza before the wedding was over!

Blurry, but her dress was just perfect! She was such a beautiful bride!

Evidence of the good time had by all!

She put on this fab one shoulder dress for their exit!

And then Sunday Ben asked me to marry him!! We're engaged! Lol I know ya'll have been waiting on this for a while (me too!!) I'm so excited! I was totally not expecting it, at all! We were home taking down Christmas decorations and before I knew it he was on one knee! We then got ready and went to my cousins' to celebrate with my family. I've had more champagne this weekend than any one person should consume!

Then yesterday our good friends Brittany and Pat hosted an engagement brunch for us! I had known we were going over there for brunch but the fact that it was for my engagement was a surprise! haha, Ben and Britt had planned it all out! We ended up staying over there all day just hanging out and celebrating with great friends! I'm a lucky girl :)

I don't know what the plans for the wedding will be yet. We have kicked around having it in Charleston for a while. It's both of our favorite city and well, just beautiful...so that may be what we end up doing. Not on the beach, but downtown. I expect it will be 2013 though...so don't expect any hard core wedding planning posts right away!
