i've been crafty

Yep, I've been using power tools. good times.

scary

I needed a low, narrow bookcase to serve as an end table in my living room.
I couldn't find one to fit that wasn't uber-expensive (aka Pottery Barn).
 So, I made one.
Well, to be fair, Ben and my dad did a lot of it...

Before she was painted.

In all her turquoise glory,
with some Ironstone pieces gifted to me from my Nanny.

We used THIS plan from Knock-Off Wood. It really was simple. It helps that my dad has all the necessary power tools and all that.

I'm so happy with how it turned out! I chose the color bc eventually I plan on putting drapes in the
living room that have that grayish turquoise color in them....posted about it HERE.

So yea...I'm a regular carpenter over here. Who needs a job as an attorney?!
I've got another DIY project that I'll be sharing soon!

I love the bookcase, and the color is great. I have curtains and pillows that I actually got at Target that are very similar in color.

You are so crafty it makes me quite jealous!!! You're always doing something awesome. If I buy some material and pay a nominal fee, will you make me a curtain for my office? I can barely sew straight....and I'm dead serious (about the bad sewing and the request, haha) =)

SWEET! And you looked very comfortable w/ the table saw. Or, whatever kinda saw that was. *laugh* Perfect color choice, too! : )

I love the bookshelf & I love that you painted it in a fun color {instead of staining it an obligatory brown or brown-black color}.
