I hate you Priscilla of Boston

Why did you have to go out of business before your Spring 2012 line came out?! I need Penelope.  So, have any of you seen anything similar? Can I have a dress made? Where does one do that? I'm sad, this is the perfect gown for me :( Well actually, I could do without the keyhole back...makes it look kind of wide.

That is gorgeous. I can't help with having something made-- but if you haven't checked out Modern Trousseau, I would check out their gowns. My wedding dress was Modern Trousseau and the lace was impeccable. They seem to offer a lot of styles with lace detailing. Also the company is great and the craftsmenship is to DIE.

Ohmagah....that dress is GORG! The lace, the cap sleeves, the covered but sheet decolletage, the scalloped edge, the buttons!

Check Monique Lhuillier also. And a good seamstress can do wonders!

Omg, with that kind of dress making, how in the world did they go out of business?

Love Priscilla of Boston! One of my favorite dresses when I was shopping was the Maeve.

I still can't believe they went out of business! I heard they were spray painting all the un-sold dresses and ruining them so no one could steal their designs :( So sad! Hopefully another design will get the hint and make something similar. You could try a local wedding boutique that does their own gowns. My sister's wedding dress was an original by a local seamstress so it was one of a kind.

I work for a bridal salon and if this gown appeals to you, definitely check out Modern Trousseau. Cali the designer comes to our salon and offers awesome alterations if you'd like them (shorten sleeves, fill a jeyhole back, add straps...). Also, look up "The Archive" by Lela Rose. You can order it without the peplum skirt and its still beautiful. Very similar to the Pricilla gown, but in my opinion better :)

Contact Nina Rosenberg -- she is a fabulous designer who lives in Louisville. She used to work for a famous wedding dress designer in NYC, now she designs a lot of high end derby hats in Louisville. Not sure how much it would cost, but I know that her commissioned projects have been pretty reasonable in the past. She is truly awesome -- I really wish I would have asked her to make my wedding dress. It would have been neat to have a one-of-a-kind. Nina Rosenberg -- ninaco@insightbb.com
