Wade Wedding Wednesday

I thought I'd start a wedding series for Wednesdays...Wade will be my new last name :) (I heart alliteration! ha!) I don't want to go overboard with wedding posts here on Just Lovely...for the time being! We still have a ways to go....So, I will be updating you all on all our plans, DIY ideas, decisions I've made, etc on Wednesdays. I may start posting my favorite inspiration image on weekends too.

So for the first post of Wade Wedding Wednesday I'll share with you all my overall idea for the rehearsal dinner. I've already shown you the venue, the Bodley Bullock House here in downtown Lexington. Because the wedding will be sort of fancy (traditional and classic), I wanted to do something a little more fun and laid back for the rehearsal dinner. Here is a shot of the BBH's garden where we will host the dinner:

I plan on doing a low country boil, with an almost southern summer picnic theme....think red gingham, craft paper, strawberry shortcake, sweet tea (with lemonade and vodka of course ;))

Love, love it. We did Southern fare for our actual wedding sit-down dinner ... pulled pork BBQ, baked mac & cheese, and green beans. Oh, and cornbread, of course! We still have friends saying it was their favorite wedding meal ever.

I absolutely love this idea! So much fun for a rehearsal dinner! We did our rehearsal dinner on a mountain, so we did a Western BBQ, with bandanas and boots, etc. I love a rehearsal dinner with a theme!

That's a wonderful rehearsal dinner idea! One of my friends did a casual BBQ with pulled pork, macaroni and cheese, etc, and it was so much fun!

LOVE it! We had NC bbq for our rehearsal dinner at the Pit in Raleigh. Pulled pork, mac and cheese, brisket, hushpuppies... mmm! I think it's great to use the regional food as inspiration!
